Colt gets new CEO

Colt Data Centre Services (DCS) has announced the appointment of Niclas Sanfridsson (pictured) as its new chief executive officer.

The move follows CEO Detlef Spang’s decision to retire at the end of the year. Spang  led the firm since its inception as an operationally-independent business from the Colt network business in 2015. During his tenure, Spang drove the data centre business and accelerated growth of its hyperscale footprint, Colt DCS said, enabling it to realise its vision of becoming the “most trusted and customer-centric” data centre operator.

Avast to boost channel partner support

Security outfit Avast announced leadership promotions as part of its cunning plan to boost channel partner support.

Daniel Parks (pictured) is promoted to Sales Director for UK and Rest of World, and Thomas Hefner is promoted to Sales Director for the DACH and Benelux regions, with immediate effect.

Vita Santrucek, GM for Avast Business, said: “One of my areas of focus this year is on ensuring excellence in our products and growth in our partner program. With these promotions, I have assigned additional responsibilities to Daniel and Thomas who will be supporting our delivery in these two core areas and building out our partner channel in their respective geographies. Their contribution will be key to the expansion of our product portfolio, increasing our channel support services, and reinforcing our footprint globally.”

ESET appoints new UK channel boss

Cybersecurity and anti-virus outfit ESET has appointed David Mole as its new UK channel director.

The outfit has been carrying out some improvements to its channel model of late to provide “perfectly matched skills and expertise” and enhance customer service for its 3,000-strong partner base in the UK.

Patil moves to Dell

Azure founder Deepak Patil has been appointed to lead Dell Technologies’ cloud business to become senior vice president of Dell Technologies Cloud Platforms and Solutions Group.

Patil spent more than 15 years at Microsoft from 2000 to 2015 holding a variety of general manager roles for Microsoft Cloud Infrastructure, Windows Azure Engineering and Global Foundation Services. He was one of the founding members of Microsoft’s public cloud Azure platform, creating the first-ever application to run on Azure while leading the design and growth of Azure.

Cloudy Puzzel gives Rob Wiles a channel booster

Cloud-based contact centre software provider, Puzzel, has appointed Rob Wiles as Partner Channel Director.

In this role, Wiles will build a brand-new partner programme across Europe, to fuel the company’s glorious three year growth plan.

Wiles has held a variety of roles covering high touch sales, distribution and vendor channel management. He joins Puzzel from Unify, part of the Atos group, where he was VP Channel Sales – UK & Ireland. Prior to Unify, he spent time at ShoreTel before becoming Head of Channel at unified communications and managed service provider APSL.

Tibco hires Studer

Integration outfit Tibco has appointed Fred Studer as its new chief marketing officer.

Studer will lead its worldwide marketing.

Studer has a career in marketing, creative, and product management, with over 25 years experience in the high tech industry.

Zyxel appoints Soares and EMEA boss

 Zyxel Communications appointed David Soares as its new EVP of Channel Sales and Marketing for EMEA and North America.

Soares, who has been working with Zyxel since 2017 as VP of North American sales, brings 30 years of experience to drive channel growth in the two regions.

In his new position overseeing the EMEA region, Soares will be working with his team to identify channel growth opportunities and strategies to help Zyxel’s channel partners drive their own business for more growth and profitability. His focus with the channel will be to help value-added resellers (VARs) to evolve their offerings to become managed service providers (MSPs).

Veritas has new channel boss

Veritas has appointed a new channel boss, with Mike Walkey now heading up its global partner ecosystem and alliances with cloud providers.

Veritas executive vice president, Scott Genereuxof said: “I am thrilled to have Mike join Veritas to strengthen the incredible relationships we have with our channel and alliance partners and drive growth across our new Enterprise Data Services Platform,”

“Mike knows the channel and has a proven track record of building innovative programs that help partners succeed and differentiate themselves in the market.”

Walkey was senior vice president of strategic partners and alliances at Hitachi Vantara, having previously worked at Flextronics International, Buy.com and Ingram Micro.

Ciauri exits Salesforce to revamp Google Cloud sales

Chris Ciauri will leave Salesforce Ciauri to spearhead Google Cloud’s sales face-lift

Ciauri has been named at Google’s EMEA cloud president, with a focus on expanding the firm’s commercial potency and reaching more customers.

He was an executive vice president EMEA at Salesforce after ten years at the company. Ciaurihas held sales roles at several tech companies, including Adobe Systems and Peoplesoft. He will lead Google Cloud’s push to improve the way it serves its existing customers.

His predecessor in the role, Sebastien Marotte, is taking on the part of vice president for the channel in EMEA.

Google shook up its remuneration structure in July by reducing the base salary for salespeople and increasing quarterly bonuses for hitting sales targets.

Silver Peak expands channel team

SD-WAN  outfit Silver Peak bolstered its EMEA channel team with the appointments of three regional channel account managers to deepen partner engagement and drive sales growth across the UK, France and Germany. The new appointments include Wayne Newman in the UK and Ireland, Philippe Dufour in France and Sara Ramezanpour in DACH. 

The move follows the launch and expansion of the Silver Peak Partner Edge programme within the last year – including the Global Partner Edge programme, the Cloud Partner Ecosystem expansion, and the Authorised Deployment Partner (ADP) programme – the new channel account managers underscore the company’s commitment to the EMEA region and channel.  The outfit believes that the SD-Wan market is headed for a growth spurt soon.

EkkoSense hires Pete Le Noury for growth bid

Data centre simulation specialist EkkoSense has appointed senior global operations specialist Pete Le Noury as the company’s Chief Operations and Chief Financial Officer.

Le Noury has been bought in to drive a planned growth phase. His appointment follows EkkoSense’s recent addition of Adrian Barker from Vertiv as Key Account Director, and also of data centre expert Mark Acton to the company’s board as a non-executive director.

Panduit hires Kandziora

Infrastructure outfit Panduit EMEA has appointed Martin Kandziora as Senior Marketing Manager. He will lead the international and country marketing teams with responsibility for developing and implementing marketing strategy and campaigns across Europe, the Middle East and Africa to support the developing activity of Panduit in the region.

Kandziora was Vice President Marketing and Communications for Rittal, a sizeable privately-owned manufacturer, where he spent 15-years. He holds a diploma in electrical engineering as well as an MBA. Martin Kandziora is involved with various professional associations and committees. He also writes articles for both the German and English-language press.

Nutanix appoints Sammy Zoghlami as EMEA sales boss

Cloudy outfit Nutanix appointed Sammy Zoghlami as Senior Vice President of Sales for the region of Europe, Middle East & Africa.

Having previously held the role of sales lead for the company’s operations in Southern Europe,  Zoghlami will take responsibility for all aspects of Nutanix sales in a region stretching from Scandinavia to South Africa, and from Ireland to Russia. Zoghlami will be responsible for leading sales and customer support, strategic business development and strategy, management of Nutanix’s offices and operational teams in each EMEA country, as well as the company’s partnerships, alliances and channel activities in the region.

Content Guru appoints Jonathan Oliver

Content Guru has appointed Jonathan Oliver as its new Chief Information Officer,

The CIO hire comes as Content Guru continues its growth outside its home European market into Asia-Pac and North America. Jonathan will be responsible for optimising internal and customer-facing systems.

With over 25 years of industry experience, Jonathan was previously Vice President of Global Technology at Dynatrace, responsible for service delivery and optimisation across employees in 24 countries.

CTI Digital appoints Steve Gale as London head honcho

CTI Digital has appointed Steve Gale to oversee its London office.

Gale will move from the agency’s Manchester office to the capital next month to manage its strategic operations and work directly with clients based in the south of England and Europe.

As managing director of its London office, Steve will play a key role in future acquisitions and the pan-European growth of CTA Digital, the agency said.
