Masergy appoints new channel lead

SD-WAN,  cloud communications and managed security solutions provider Masergy has hired Emily Nerland to lead its UK channel account management team, amid fresh investments across its channel operations.

Masergy EMEA managing director Steve Harrington said the company was amplifying partner revenue capabilities and driving new opportunities in the channel.

Mphasis hires Bhatia

IT solutions outfit Mphasis has appointed Anurag Bhatia as Senior Vice President and Head of Europe business.

Bhatia would be responsible for spearheading growth strategies, client pursuits and enhancing client success in the region.

Bhatia has over twenty years of technology services experience in multiple large outsourcing projects globally. He joins the European team from Mphasis US, where he has been part of the GTM unit for past five years, leading Service Transformation in his most recent role.

Chris Turner appointed Toughbook UK and Ireland Country Manager

Panasonic has announced the appointment of Chris Turner as the new Country Manager for the UK & Ireland Toughbook Group. #

Turner has more than a decade’s experience at Panasonic flogging Toughbook ’s rugged notebooks, tablets and handheld devices. His focus will be to boost the sale of rugged notebooks and tablets in the UK and Ireland, rapidly grow Panasonic’s share of the handheld market and accelerate its focus from hardware to mobile business.

Percona apponts Martin James VP of EMEA and APAC sales

Open source database software and services outfit Percona, has named Martin James vice president of sales for the EMEA and APAC regions.

James has more than 25 years of experience building and leading sales teams in Europe, James will be responsible for the entire Percona EMEA sales operation, including direct sales, business development and partner channels.

Sharp Europe hires Ian Barnard

Sharp Europe has hired Ian Barnard as European General Manager, Visual Solutions. He will be responsible for managing and developing Sharp’s Visual Solutions business across Europe, driving forward Sharp’s sales and product strategy.

Barnard brings more than 25 years’ experience in strategic development at some of the world’s largest technology and electronics businesses, including Sony and Canon. He has spent 15 years in either global or pan-European leadership roles and has a track record of launching professional technology products. He will be based at Sharp’s European head office in Stockley Park, London.

Barnard said: “This is an exciting time to join Sharp, now that we can offer a full range of products and solutions that answer every vertical from corporate to education, from retail to transport. I look forward to building on the success of our new product portfolio, and developing strong relationships with our factories, our partners and our customers to ensure we continue to deliver engaging propositions.”

Rubrik appoints Shirk from VMWare

Cloud Data Management Company, Rubrik, announced the appointment of Brett Shirk as the company’s Chief Revenue Officer. In his new role, Shirk will be responsible for driving Rubrik’s global go-to-market strategy. He will report directly to Rubrik Co-founder and CEO Bipul Sinha.

Shirk joins Rubrik from VMware, where as senior vice president and general manager, Americas, he was responsible for strategic planning, business operations, “go-to-market” strategy, and management of VMware’s business in Latin America, the United States, and Canada.

Shirk has more than 20 years of experience in the technology industry. Prior to VMware, Shirk spent 14 years at Symantec and its spin-out Veritas Technologies, rising from a district manager in the Great Lakes region at Symantec, to Executive Vice President of Worldwide Sales for Veritas Technologies.

“Over the course of my career I’ve had the opportunity to scale a number of global sales organisations”, said Brett Shirk, Chief Revenue Officer at Rubrik. “Rubrik has achieved in its first five years of business what most companies achieve in twice the time, if at all – a diverse and loyal customer base. I’m excited to join Rubrik and help drive its next phase of growth.”

This appointment comes at a time of record customer growth and expansion for Rubrik. In January, the company announced that it raised a $261 million Series E round at a $3.3 billion valuation from new investor Bain Capital Ventures and existing investors Lightspeed Ventures, Greylock Partners, Khosla Ventures and IVP.

Rubrik also expanded its executive team in 2018 with several high profile hires from leading technology companies, including: Chief Financial Officer Murray Demo (Atlassian), CIO Avon Puri (VMware), Chief Legal Officer Peter McGoff (Box), Chief People Officer Jeff Vijungco (Adobe), and SVP of Product & Strategy Shay Mowlem (Splunk).

 

Patton names new EU managers

Maker of SmartNodeTM voice-over-IP  gear Patton has appointed Marian Torkar and Michael Schwidder, to expand business operations and drive revenue growth throughout Europe.

Marjan Torkar, former Mobik CEO and Dialogic VP, has joined Patton as President of EMEA.   Torkar is responsible for Patton’s European business unit with the mission to grow revenue and deliver strong EBITDA performance. He leads business development activities with a special focus on multi-national telecom service providers based in Europe with operations in international markets.

Yomdel appoints Simon Taylor as marketing director.

Internet marketing outfit Yomdel has announced that Simon Taylor has been appointed as its new marketing director.

Taylor joins Yomdel from WDMP, where he was a board director and strategic marketing partner to big brands such as Hiscox, Tesco Bank, Wyevale Garden Centres, The Gym Group, and previously with Land Rover and Jaguar.

Datto appoints Tim Weller as CEO

Datto has announced the appointment of Tim Weller as its new Chief Executive Officer.

Weller succeeds Founder Austin McChord who got away from the daily management of the company but continues as a board member.

A Spokesdatto said that Weller will assume the position immediately, providing a seamless transition from his interim role of leading Datto’s Executive Team over the last two months.

Midwich shuffles the management cards

AV distributor Midwich has promoted Lee Harris and Ross Floyd to Divisional Director, following the planned retirement of long-serving Commercial Director, Lee Baker.

Lee Harris will become Divisional Director focusing on AV (Midwich Ltd) and Ross Floyd will assume a wider role as Divisional Director covering AV, Document Solutions and further technologies.

Lee Baker will be passing over his responsibilities to Lee Harris and Ross Floyd in January following an extensive handover period.

Silver Peak appoints three new executives

Global SD-WAN contender Silver Peak announced three new senior executive appointments as part of its future plans.

The new appointments include Ken Laversin, Chief Revenue Officer, Kathleen Swift, Senior Vice President, Human Resources and Rick Valentine, Chief Customer Officer.

Sound outfit Jabra has appointed Ismail Mitha to its North EMEA Channel team. Mitha will be field-based, but will report into Jabra’s UK HQ in Langley, Berkshire.

This news follows a string of new hires and promotions as Jabra has seen increased demand and strong financial growth across the organisation. Mitha joins as Telco Account Manager and will utilise his vast experience in the industry to build upon the strong foundations laid by his predecessor, Lee Davis, who was recently appointed Enterprise Account Manager at Jabra.

Anderson Zaks focuses on partner channel with new appointments

UK omni-channel Payment Service Provider (PSP) Anderson Zaks, has announced a new focus on its partner channel, with several new partners signed in recent months.  The company is undergoing an expansion across the board with new appointments in its sales, marketing, development, quality assurance and support teams as it broadens its product and service offering in light of payments industry deregulation associated with the second Payment Services Directive (PSD2).
