OutSystems partners with UiPath

OutSystems and UiPath have teamed up to mix UiPath Business Automation Platform with OutSystems high-performance low-code.

The outfits think that this will enable customers to securely and intelligently automate core business processes and applications, while saving time, improving efficiency, and delivering transformational app experiences.

The partnership integrates solutions and services with a new connector that allows UiPath software robots to be managed from within OutSystems applications. The best-of-breed approach helps prevent vendor lock-in and maximises ROI.

Outsystems and Deloitte build cloudy centre of excellence

OutSystems is working with Deloitte Consulting to build a Centre of Excellence (COE) focused on providing cloud-based industry solutions using Amazon Web Services (AWS).

The idea is that Deloitte, OutSystems, and AWS will hatch out new enterprise applications for customers.

The Centre of Excellence is European wide and so far has been tapped into by Red Cross Netherlands. The Red Cross used it to build new applications for volunteer management and coordination. The three organisations let the Red Cross to scale operations amid increased demand and rapidly changing needs during the COVID-19 pandemic.

IT leaders worried about debt

More than 69 percent of IT leaders identify technical debt as a major threat to their companies’ ability to innovate, according to a new report from OutSystems.

In OutSysem’s latest report, “The Growing Threat of Technical Debt examines the cost of technical debt facing businesses across industries and geographies.

OutSystems CEO and Founder Paulo Rosado, said the combination of old code along with the new generation of mobile apps, stack applications, and SaaS sprawl are robbing organisations of resources, time, and the ability to innovate.

“This report proves that technical debt will continue to compound, and requires a new approach to move past it and innovate at a pace and scale for true competitive advantage.”

OutSystems scores Yorkshire Building Society contract

Yorkshire Building Society (YBS) Group has sped up its customer-friendly app development, including a new online mortgage calculator that has seen conversions increase by 54 percent, by using OutSystems.

The UK’s third largest building society has made digitalisation a core part of its business strategy to build both customer-centric services and trust with its customers. In addition, YBS wanted to provide more choice for how customers accessed services, to help reduce inbound calls and wait times, as well as further improve the overall customer experience.

YBS chose OutSystems as its core development technology to build customer-focused apps faster. The first app, a new online mortgage calculator, was delivered in just three months.

OutSystems strikes partnership deal with Amazon Web Services

OutSystems has entered into a multi-year strategic collaboration agreement (SCA) with Amazon Web Services (AWS).

Under the deal, OutSystems promises to deliver deeper integration with AWS services in the OutSystems Cloud, allowing customers around the world to quickly put to work enhanced DevOps, data and analytics, artificial intelligence/machine learning (AI/ML), and other AWS services in the applications that make a difference to their business.

OutSystems gets new CTO

OutSystems has named Patrick Jean (pictured) as Chief Technology Officer and June Duchesne as General Counsel.

Patrick Jean joins the OutSystems senior leadership team as CTO with more than 20 years of engineering leadership experience in prominent roles at Citrix, Apttus, and Microsoft. Most recently, he was VP of Unified Cloud Engineering at Citrix, where he tripled the size of the cloud engineering team. Jean is a proven leader in cloud technology, with experience bringing innovative products to market, driving strategic direction, and leading organisational development. In his role as CTO, Jean is leading the global engineering team and OutSystems continued investment in innovation. He holds undergraduate and graduate degrees from McNeese State University.
