I-Soon was playing i-Spy on western companies

A shocking data leak has blown the lid off China’s secret cyber spying operation, which has targeted countries like the UK, India, and Taiwan.

The leak, which was posted on a website for computer geeks, reveals how a shady Chinese firm called I-Soon has been helping the communist regime to hack into the phones, emails and social media accounts of millions of people around the world.

The leak contains hundreds of files, including emails, chats, photos and documents, that show how I-Soon has been working with the Chinese government for eight years, snooping on at least 20 foreign governments and territories.

Climb Channel expands partnership with Malwarebytes

Climb Channel Solutions has expanded its partnership with Malwarebytes to include the full Malwarebytes business portfolio for VARs in the UK and Ireland.

This expands the existing MSP partnership between Climb and Malwarebytes, allowing more partners to offer this cyber protection solution to their customers. With additional threat prevention modules and services such as DNS filtering and managed detection and response (MDR), partners can offer each customer the right product or service, tailored to their specific needs.

Malwarebytes Channel Manager Paul Sexton said: “As business owners worldwide have unfortunately experienced, the consequences of a ransomware attack can be devastating to their operations and even their existence. That’s why we are excited to announce our partnership with Climb Channel Solutions.”

Malwarebytes hiring after investment boost

Malwarebytes is hiring again after receiving a $100 million investment that the security vendor plans to use to massively expand its MSP partnership programme.

For those who came in late, the company laid off 125 employees just a month ago so the fact it is hiring again is probably due to Vector Capital making the minority $100 million investment to promote Malwarebytes’ product innovation and consolidate its ownership structure.

But the investment firm also said the funding will be used to scale  Malwarebytes’ international channel partner program and its rapidly growing MSP business.

And that could lead to a doubling of Malwarebytes’ internal MSP channel team to 150 employees within a year, from its current 75 members.

Malwarebytes launchs MSP programme

Security vendor  Malwarebytes has launched a managed services programme as a way to boost its SME business.

Malwarebytes’ MP3 managed service programme has been running on a limited basis, but is now ready to go out into general release and is being made available in the UK. It provides a tiered approach that partners can take out to customers, with flexible licensing options.

The security player has accompanied the MP3 launch with its OneView operations console. Its broad aim is to give partners the tools they need to reach out to the small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) customer base with management tools that make it easier to bring fresh customers on board, offering licensing and billing tools as well as providing the ability to perform global policy setting and remote access control.
