Calligo buys US Decisive Data

Calligo, an end-to-end managed data services provider, has acquired Decisive Data, a pioneer in data analytics, data science and visualisation.

The integration of US-based Decisive Data’s capabilities in data science and data analytics into Calligo’s existing data insights team, alongside its global privacy and security-centric managed data services, said it creates the most capable, accessible and compliant data insights service for modern businesses.

Decisive Data was established in 2008 in Redmond, Washington.

Calligo and Reed Smith team up

Calligo and Reed Smith announced a non-exclusive joint services agreement to market and jointly deliver data protection, governance and privacy services to one another’s clients.

In a joint statement, the pair said that Reed Smith’s IP, Tech & Data Group and the firm’s technology subsidiary, GravityStack, will work together with Calligo to provide mutual clients with a full suite of data protection services. These will include the legal frameworks for data’s compliant use, plus a range of continuous data protection services, including outsourced Data Protection Officer (DPO) services, cybersecurity support and technology infrastructure.

For those who came in late, Reed Smith is a global law firm with more than 1,800 lawyers in 30 offices throughout the US, Europe, the Middle East and Asia. Calligo is the world’s first end-to-end managed data services provider offering data privacy, outsourced IT and data insights services, with offices in the U.S., Canada, the Channel Islands, Luxembourg, the UK and Ireland.

Calligo buys Cinnte

End-to-end managed data services provider Calligo, has acquired Cinnte Technologies, a Cavan- and Dublin-based IT managed services provider, specialising in managed IT, cloud and security services.

The purchase of Cinnte Technologies is Calligo’s eighth acquisition in three years, and follows January 2020’s acquisition of Dublin-based DC Networks and Dublin- and Cork-based Itomic Voice & Data.

Calligo’s collection of managed data services improves organisations’ productivity and profitability by making their data more available, secure and safe, it’s claimed. These services include privacy- and security-centric IT managed services; the world’s first public cloud platform to have been designed with privacy at its heart; sophisticated data privacy adherence services; and enterprise-level, ‘privacy by design’ machine learning services and tools.

Hickman appointed as Calligo COO

Managed data services outfit Calligo has appointed Mark Hickman as chief operations officer.

Hickman will be responsible for overseeing and implementing Calligo’s strategic plan and delivering exceptional world-class customer service. In particular, Hickman will be helping drive Calligo’s portfolio of managed data services – including data privacy, outsourced IT and data insights services – into data-reliant verticals such as financial services, legal, SaaS, medical and ecommerce, while ensuring exemplary ongoing delivery of every service line.

Hickman has over 20 years of executive management experience with roles in sales, marketing, customer service and operations within multi-national technology organisations. Prior to joining Calligo, Hickman was Vice President of the Data and Insights division at Tyler Technologies, a global information management services provider for local governments, and COO at WinMagic, a multi-national provider of enterprise-grade data security and encryption solutions.

Calligo snaps up DC Networks

Global data optimisation and privacy specialist, Calligo announced it has acquired DC Networks, a Dublin-based IT managed services provider, specialising in IT support, telecommunications and networking and managed Microsoft Azure services.

In the last three years, Calligo has completed six acquisitions – three in Canada, one in Guernsey, one in Luxembourg and now DC Networks.
