US reseller Presidio is looking at UK expansion after its acquisition of Irish firm Arkphire.

Arkphire makes Shawn Deegan head of cloud

MSP Arkphire has announced the appointment of Shawn Deegan to the role of head of cloud solutions.

For those who came in late, Arkphire was bought by US IT solutions provider Presidio and this appointment means Deegan will lead the firm’s EMEA cloud solutions business.

CEO Paschal Naylor said that the company was delighted to have Deegan leading its EMEA cloud solutions business.

“He is a great example of the enhanced capabilities brought to Arkphire’s offering since being acquired by Presidio and his wealth of experience will no doubt prove to be a highly valued addition by both the Arkphire team and our clients”, Naylor said.

Presidio buys into the EU

For those not in the know, Presidio is a $3 billion-revenue outfit from across the pond. Apparently, it wants to use Arkphire as a platform to expand its business across Europe and Asia Pacific.

The deal should be sorted out by early next year and will be the first time outside the US for Presidio.

Arkphire is a €160 million-revenue firm with 250 staff and offices in Dublin, London, Singapore and Brazil.

Arkphire claims the takeover marks the “first major move of significant scale” towards industry consolidation in the Irish ICT managed services sector.

It thinks that businesses are rushing to seek outsourced support to meet the increasingly more complex and demanding IT infrastructure and business transformation challenges.

The enlarged group now creates the largest and fastest-growing Irish-headquartered IT procurement and IT managed service business, with 220 staff on its books and combined revenues of almost €150 million.
