Steve Turpie named as DXC senior vice president

DXC Technology has appointed Steve Turpie as senior vice president and general manager for the company’s region covering UK, Ireland, Israel, the Middle East and Africa.

Turpie reports to DXC President and CEO Mike Salvino. Maruf Majed, who has led the region since DXC’s inception, will retire from the company. He will remain on the DXC senior leadership team to ensure there is a smooth handover.

Before joining DXC, Turpie held senior roles in strategic sourcing and procurement at QBE Insurance Group Ltd. and at the Zurich Insurance Company. He served as a senior advisor to the head of Accenture Operations, a global role based out of London. Turpie also held operational leadership and finance roles with Aviva PLC and Cable & Wireless.

Turpie joined DXC in October as head of client account management in UKIIMEA. In his role as regional general manager, he is responsible for delivering on the company’s focused strategy on people, customers and operational execution.

Salvino said: “Since joining DXC, Steve has worked to understand where we are currently positioned with our customers and where we should focus our attention moving forward. By taking DXC to the next level in the UKIIMEA region, Steve will be instrumental in driving our strategy and renewed customer focus to the rest of our organisation.”

Turpie said he would ensure that account teams operate in lockstep with customer objectives.

“Comprehensive and ongoing client reviews will help ensure that DXC is listening and closely aligning with customers and their mission-critical priorities. Our goal is to strengthen our partnership with regional customers, and our success will be directly tied to our ability to address their needs and contribute to their business growth.”

Turpie holds a Bachelor of Science degree in accountancy from the University of East Anglia. He also holds a Professional Accountancy Qualification from the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants.
