Huawei woos Euro partners

Yan Lida, president of enterprise business group, Huawei, started its Eco-Connect Europe’s second day here, in Paris, today.

He opened by saying the US Department of Commerce has put Huawei on a blacklist and that “shocked the whole world”, but nevertheless in the first three quarters Huawei managed to grow its business by 24 percent.

“We can’t survive without European partner support”, said Lida. Huawei has 12,000 employes, 23 R&D institutes and 5,900 partners.Huawei has helped build mobile networks such as Vodaphone, Elisa and Telia, he claimed.

Lida said: “We believe digitalisation for industry is a “mega trend”. The digiital economy could exceed 23 trillion dollars by 2025.

“It’s the time for B2B businesses to go digital, but there’s still a long way to go.” That’s mostly because business and tech need to march together.

He said several technologies need to cooperate with each other, such as cloud, 5G, edge computing the internet of things.

Huawei’s big push is that it will integrate different techs such as AI, 5G, big data, robotics and the rest.

Huawei will spend $500 million worldwide and 100 million Euro over the next five years, building up the digital elements to become one thing.

Huawei won’t interfere with system integrators and other channel players but will support them in other ways.
