HP partners dance with wolf

Maker of expensive printer ink, HP, has released Wolf Security, a new integrated portfolio of secure by design PCs and printers, hardware-enforced endpoint security software, and endpoint security services.

Essentially, HP Wolf Security unites the company’s security offerings into a single platform for its channel to take to customers who are keen to tighten security with the rise of remote working.

HP Channel & Partner Alliances director Neil Sawyer said that the mass shift to remote work as a result of the pandemic has led to new worker behaviour that is unwittingly increasing cybersecurity risk and increasing pressure on IT teams with less visibility.

Rooted in what are described asZero Trust principles, HP Wolf Security uses technology to reduce pressure on IT – including self-healing firmware, in-memory breach detection, threat containment via virtualisation, and cloud-based intelligence.

The platform aims to shrink the “addressable attack surface”, enabling remote recovery from firmware attacks, enhancing threat data collection, as well as delivering high fidelity alerts.

HP Wolf Security has been structured into three categories to cater to different business sizes and needs: HP Wolf Security for Business, HP Wolf Pro Security, and Wolf Enterprise Security.

The HP Wolf Pro Security category offers SMEs a host of tools and services, including threat containment, malware prevention, and identity protection – all integrated with HP’s hardware security capabilities.
