Zyxel released its cloud-based security service that, it claims, provides businesses with protection from an array of network threats.
Dubbed an IP Reputation Filter it comes with multiple layers of defence, user-friendly design, and access to an expanding database of malicious IPs from Webroot.
Before connecting with all incoming or outgoing traffic, the IP Reputation Filter automatically screens for and blocks threats from malicious IPs. This preventive feature significantly cuts down on the system resources required for deep traffic inspections. By reducing the considerable demands placed upon hardware, the IP Reputation Filter allows SMBs to make the most of their network infrastructure investments. It also saves time, as businesses no longer need to configure security policies to block IPs one by one. The IP Reputation Filter routinely checks the Webroot BrightCloud Threat Intelligence database of malicious IPs.
Hal Lonas, CTO of Webroot, said: “According to our research, a single IP could be responsible for more than 400,000 phishing sites. At Webroot, we continuously classify and score more than 4.3 billion IP addresses every day to ensure consumers can navigate the web safely. We’re more than pleased that our extensive database helps Zyxel’s security products and services build the first line of defence for SMBs.”
