Surprise management moves at RingCentral

The founder and former CEO of RingCentral, Vlad Shmunis, is returning to the company following the surprising exit of Tarek Robbiati.

RingCentral had announced that Tarek Robbiati would become the new chief in August 2023.

In a statement, the company said that Robbiati’s resignation was not due to any disagreement with the company or the Board of Directors or any matter related to the company’s operations, policies or practices.

Rob Theis, RingCentral’s lead independent director, said: “RingCentral’s strategic product vision and operations are closely aligned and linked. We have concluded that it is best to have one executive oversee all aspects of the business organisation.

Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise teams up with RingCentral in UK

Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise has joined forces with RingCentral to offer what it claims is a unified comms (UC) solution for channel partners.

Dubbed The Rainbow Office powered by RingCentral, the stuff is for medium and large-sized enterprises and is a unified communication-as-a-service (UCaaS) solution, being launched in the UK, it is claimed.  It has been available other European countries, including Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Ireland, Spain, and in The Netherlands.

For Alcatel-Lucent, the UCaaS launch comes at a time when customers are evaluating their comms options because of the impact of the coronavirus pandemic and the anticipated shift to more hybrid working.

Maintel expands RingCentral partnership

Maintel has expanded its partnership with RingCentral to create UK public sector. offerings.

Maintel will offer RingCentral Office to UK local and central government organisations through the NS2 network services framework. The RingCentral solution provides organisations with an integrated team messaging, video meetings, and cloud phone system—on any device.

The pair say the new product will enable public sector organisations to transform their communications with cloud-based communications services.

Maintel will design, implement and support RingCentral Office-based implementations which will include a comprehensive suite of mobile devices, desktop soft clients and attendant consoles.

Customers will also be able to integrate this solution with Maintel’s own contact centre solution (Callmedia CX NOW), and a range of connectivity and security offers, enabling a complete end-to-end communications and connectivity service.

Avaya Cloud Office expands

Avaya and RingCentral have expanded their Avaya Cloud Office by RingCentral product.

Avaya Ireland Country General Manager Aidan Furlong said the commercial availability of Avaya Cloud Office means that the outfit was forging ahead to bring all the benefits of cloud-based unified communications to enterprise, mid-market and SME businesses.

RingCentral releases new products for partners

Cloudy outfit RingCentral has released a new generation of cloud communications solutions to its channel partners.

For those not in the know, RingCentral provides a single cloud platform with multimodal communications capabilities including voice, video, online meetings, team messaging, and digital customer engagement.

With Westcon acting as a master agent for RingCentral initially in the UK and Ireland, it is anticipated that Westcon will draw on its established EMEA footprint to extend RingCentral’s reach across multiple markets in Europe.
