Dell’Oro says SASE market growing

A Dell’Oro Group report claims that the SASE market – consisting of SD-WAN and SSE (security service edge) solutions – bucked economic uncertainty with 38 per cent year-over-year revenue growth in 2Q 2023.

The report said that quarterly revenue broke through the $2 billion marker to set a new record. Quarterly revenue has doubled in just ten quarters as enterprises go all in to improve networking and security services in the mobile- and cloud-first era.

Cloud delivered security to grow 21 percent

Dell’Oro Group’s latest five-year forecast (2021-2025) for the Network and Security and Data Center Appliance (NSDCA) market said that the industry is about to bounce back from the COVID-19 pandemic.

The outfit said that the worst of the market turbulence appears behind us. Increased vaccination rates–albeit not fast enough for some countries and regions–have led to an unwinding of lockdown mandates and boosted economic activity. In addition, economic stimuli from central governments have provided additional market tailwinds.

“We estimate an impact of $300 million in 1Q 2021 caused by some product lead times tripling to eighteen weeks.”
