Exertis UK names Tim Griffin new CEO

Exertis UK has appointed Tim Griffin as its new CEO.

The change means Griffin is no longer managing director of parent company, DCC Technology, and willl be replaced by Clive Fitzharris.

Griffin takes direct responsibility for the entire Exertis UK, Retail & B2B operations and oversees other businesses in the UK and Ireland of DCC Technology.

He will also lead a development plan for the business in the UK to drive growth, innovation and market leadership.

“The size of the opportunity in the UK, both now and in the future, is a major prize and I’m excited to be taking the CEO role leading the evolution of our UK business as we drive it onwards to ever-greater success,” Griffin said.

Irish DCC Technology opens new unit over the pond

Irish DCC Technology is creating a new business unit in North America which will look after its recent Jam Industries and Stampede purchases.

Exertis North America will be headed up by Jam Industries president and CEO, Marty Szpiro. Stampede, which rebranded to Exertis in 2020, will operate under the Exertis Pro AV banner led by John Dunne, its president and managing director.  Meanwhile, Stuart Frenkel, Jam Industries’ current CFO, will become the new president of the renamed Exertis/Jam.

DCC Technology MD, Tim Griffin said that the rebranding of Jam Industries to Exertis/Jam was a natural next step.

DCC rides out pandemic

DCC Technology says that it has seen increased demand for lower-margin consumer and home working products which appear to have off-set some of the woes in its higher-margin B2B areas and Pro AV operation remain challenging.

In the six months to 30 September, DCC Technology revenues rose by 9.7 percent to £1.96 billion and operating profit was almost flat, with a 0.7 percent improvement to £25.5 million.

DCC managing director Tim Griffin said he was encouraged by the revenue growth and had seen demand change as the pandemic wore on.
