Total computers gets backing from Boxxe’s Phil Doye

Boxxe owner Phil Doye has announced that he has made a minority investment in Total Computers and will become a board member of the Kettering outfit.

Doye acquired Boxxe three-and-a-half years ago when it was known as SBL.  Before that he had built up and then flogged off Kelway to CDW.

In a statement, Doye stressed that he had known Total CEO Aidan Groom and CRO Kevin Goodall for “many years”.

“They have created a business that is uniquely positioned to help customers keep up with the pace of digital transformation and technological innovation.

MoD gets in Boxxe formation

Boxxe has been scored “2022’s largest Microsoft deal in the UK public sector” with the MoD.

The  deal, worth £291 million, is a three-year contract, which Boxxe claims is the largest Microsoft deals in the UK public sector this year.  Apparently, this involves Boxxe managing the MoD’s Microsoft Enterprise Licensing agreement.

The agreement will see Boxxe use their Licence Management Platform and Microsoft resources to support and manage its operations.

Boxxe teams up with Agilitas

Digital transformation specialist Boxxe has selected Agilitas as a key partner in providing multi-vendor maintenance and professional services.

The partnership services guarantee the provision and delivery of replacement parts and engineering resource for workplace devices that include desktops and laptops or for critical server, storage and networking infrastructure to an agreed SLA, meaning if things go wrong businesses will be able to get up and running quickly and efficiently, minimising disruption.

Shaun Lynn, Agilitas’ CEO said: “We are really excited to be joining the Boxxe team as a key service partner.  They [sic] have ambitious growth plans over the next few years and we are looking forward to standing shoulder-to-shoulder supporting them on that journey.  We both share very similar values and our leading channel services coupled with boxxe’s excellent reputation will deliver an enhanced customer experience.”

SBL to be renamed as boxxe

SBL is to be renamed ‘boxxe‘ 12 months after Phil Doye bought the York-based reseller.

SBL used to be known as Software Box so the name change is a step towards that.

Doye has been telling the world+dog that SBL’s rebranding was accelerated by COVID-19, which he said has underlined the importance technology plays in keeping businesses afloat.
