Brits start to understand need to encrypt

Apricorn today announced findings from a survey highlighting the rise in encryption technology post-GDPR enforcement. Two-thirds of respondents now hardware encrypt all information as standard, which is a positive step considering over a quarter noted the lack of encryption as being one of the leading causes of a data breach within their organisation.

Secure USB drive outfit Apricorn has released research claiming that 89 percent of organisations have experienced a data breach, and human error is still the chief cause.

Two-thirds (63 percent) of respondents noted that human error was the leading cause of a data breach within their organisation – be it mobile workers, unintentional error, or employees with malicious intent.
