Gamma Communications teams up with Ingram Micro

Gamma Communications has announced a new strategic relationship with Ingram Micro to offer its UK partners Operator Connect for Microsoft Teams.

Operator Connect, a new operator-managed programme from Microsoft Teams Phone, has been designed to enable seamless and integrated calling. There are only a few providers of the programme in the UK.

The pair want to provide partners with a new opportunity in the business voice market. Additionally, Gamma will become the first provider to offer Operator Connect for Microsoft Teams to Ingram Micro’s partners in the UK.

Onecom snaps up IMS

Onecom has snapped up IT services provider IMS Technology Services.

The deal adds more than 600 customers to Onecom’s books, the Vodafone, Microsoft, Google, Mitel, Samsung, Apple, Gamma and Five9 partner said.

Onecom’s revenues increased by over 80 per cent to reach £169 million in calendar 2021 primarily due to its aggressive M&A strategy. Founded in 2002, it has been backed by mid-market private equity firm LDC since 2019.

OneCom CEO Martin Flick said the acquisition builds on OneCom’s mission to extend its geographic footprint and technical capabilities.

Gamma Communications sees profits rise

Gamma Communications has announced its half-year results and an eight per cent rise in revenue and gross profit.

Revenue was £234.7 million while gross provide was £120.4 million. The company also reported its  partner business was improving.

SIP Trunks, driven by voice enablement of Microsoft Teams via Direct Routing, was the company’s top product along with Cloud PBX users, which climbed by six per cent to 716,000 from 676,000. The number of Cloud PBX seats in Europe increased by seven percent to 137,000.

Gamma appoints Smethurst as new Channel Sales director

Comms outfit Gamma Communications has appointed Andy Smethurst as its Channel Sales Director.

Smethurst joined Gamma in 2004 and progressed through his career in Business Development. Prior to his promotion to Channel Sales Director, Andy was responsible for the growth of several of Gamma’s geographic sales teams. This followed a period of being responsible for the growth of some of Gamma’s largest channel partner relationships in his position as Account Director.

Smethurst’s new role involves leading the Gamma sales team to bring new products to market for the channel, and to continue to assist in building on the mutual successes already enjoyed between Gamma and its multiple channel partners.

Gamma partners with Highlight again

Comms outfit Gamma has signed a three year strategic partnership with service-assurance specialist Highlight, which aims to build on their existing six-year relationship.

Using Highlight’s services, Gamma said it has built better relationships with its customers and improved the service it delivers.

In its Direct division, Gamma says it tailors Highlight’s services for each customer, providing a window through which Gamma and its customers can view an accurate picture of what is going on within their networks. The common perspective prompts open conversations and enables Gamma to strengthen its service delivery.

Giacom teams up with Gamma

Cloudy distie Giacom has signed an agreement with Gamma to become the first Authorised Distribution Partner for its Microsoft Teams Direct Routing Service.

Giacom’s customers have already supported SMB businesses through the rapid adoption of Microsoft Teams throughout the remote working revolution. Microsoft Teams saw one of the biggest surges in usage over the pandemic, and is now being used by more than 75 million people each day.

Direct Routing from Gamma is said to be a cost-effective, highly featured alternative to Calling Plans for Microsoft 365, allowing customers to replace any existing phone system with Microsoft Teams for all inbound and outbound calls to landlines and mobiles.

Giacom’s customers will be able to benefit from reduced costs and operational complexity by deploying Gamma’s Direct Routing service, helping them to create a fully cloud-based communication solution using Microsoft Teams and Business Voice, and unlocking the potential of these services.

Gamma snaps up Exactive

Gamma has bought Scottish Microsoft Teams specialist Exactive for up to £7.5 million.

The deal will see the cloud comms player pay £4.5 million in cash and shares, with a “deferred contingent consideration” of up to £3 million, if Exactive achieves EBITDA of £1.5 million in 2021.

Dunfermline-based Exactive was established in 2015 and had a turnover of £3.8 million for the year ending 31 December 2019. It  has support facilities in Poland. CEO Scott Millar, CCO Robert Hutchison – who together co-founded the firm – and CTO Richard McPhee will remain with the merged business.

Cloudcell makes pact with Gamma

devil_514Cloudcell Technologies announced that it has signed a long-term deal with Gamma, a UK voice, data and mobile products and service provider.

The agreement and support from Gamma, will allow the Cloudcell team to continue to grow its customer base in the construction, events, transport and enterprise sectors, by strengthening its operational team and launching new marketing initiatives.

The partnership will mean that Gamma will become Cloudcell’s primary connectivity partner, helping to support revenue growth for them in this area.

Managing Director of Cloudcell, Kevin Boyle said: “We are delighted to sign this agreement and strengthen our relationship with Gamma. We are now ideally positioned to grow our business and our share of the connectivity market. We also intend to focus on forging new relationships in the reseller market and deliver enterprise-grade, fully-managed connectivity to a wider range of customers.”
