Westcon International sees good trade from its cloud marketplace

Westcon International CEO David Grant said that his outfit had seen a good take up from its PartnerCentral programme, which started six weeks ago.

He said PartnerCentral had an opportunity to deploy in more territories and engage with more partners.

Grant said: “We’ll have 17,000 users on the platform – about half of our global customer base, but we’re only deployed in English-speaking business language countries. We’ve seen, since launch, six weeks ago, a 20-25 per cent increase in activity.”

He said that customer insights were essential to reflecting the partners to examine the entire sale and conversing with them about where that leaves additional opportunity.”

After working out where the channel can make a difference, that information will be shared with partners, adding more depth to the insights available on PartnerCentral.

Grant is looking to further provide more information to partners after it completes its digital transformation project later this year.

“Our second wave of digital transformation began this year, which was the automation of the data to the desktop, combined with our intellectual property and data that we’ve already got in our systems and adding significant value to that sales process,” he said.

“We’re going to be unveiling our internal sales process automation platform, which will be built on Microsoft Dynamics,” he said.
