Westcon-Comstor caught in AWS’s web

Tech distributor Westcon-Comstor has struck a deal with Amazon Web Services (AWS) that it thinks will open new doors for its partners and vendors.

The partnership aims to make the transaction process on AWS Marketplace easier and faster, offering growth chances while boosting the role of the channel in the booming cloud marketplace economy.

The deal, under the Designated Seller of Record (DSOR) scheme with AWS, lets Westcon-Comstor list its vendors’ products on AWS Marketplace privately.

This means sharing quotes better with the company’s network of 12,000 channel partners around the world.

By using the DSOR deal, Westcon-Comstor partners can transact and serve their customers within AWS Marketplace, making sure the sales process is smooth throughout the supply chain.

This move is expected to speed up the Channel Partner Private Offer (CPPO) plan, making the experience better for Westcon’s partners.

As one of the few distributors in the DSOR programme rollout and the only one launching across multiple vendors, Westcon-Comstor has a special place in the market.

After getting AWS Security Competency status, the company is ready to give its partners and customers access to its top-notch cybersecurity and networking-focused technology range.

Westcon-Comstor CEO David Grant said: “End-user buyer behaviour is changing fast, and this deal with AWS is all about letting our partners sell where their customers want to buy.”

“By building a bridge that lets our partners serve their customers directly in AWS Marketplace, we’re making the channel stronger in the cloud marketplace ecosystem and creating new growth chances for our partners and vendors. It’s exciting to see what can be done through this deal in 2024 and beyond.”

The news follows the distie buying AWS advanced service partner Rebura last week to improve its cloud skills and channel services.
