Westcon-Comstor buys cloudy Rebura

Westcon-Comstor has splashed out on Rebura, an AWS cloud expert and partner, to beef up its cloud offerings and flog more services to its partners.

Westcon-Comstor’s partners reckon the deal will give them access to a range of AWS solutions, from cloud advice, moving to the cloud, FinOps, AWS Marketplace tricks and security services.

Rebura, based in London, was set up in 2017 and helps AWS cloud moves, updates, SaaS and DevOps across the UK, Nordics and central Europe.

Rebura and AWS inked a strategic deal in 2023, which shows Rebura’s worth. Rebura has seven AWS badges, including migration, Microsoft workloads, and DevOps.

As an AWS advanced partner, Rebura helps firms of all sizes build and improve their apps and workloads on AWS, boosting productivity, scalability, efficiency, and security.

“These are hot areas for partners, but not all of them know how to help customers with AWS.

A Westcon mouthpiece said: “With Rebura’s skills, we can help partners by selling them their consulting services through Westcon and Comstor. Partners will get Rebura’s know-how in migration and more to sell these services to their customers.”

Rebura will be a separate unit, making up Westcon-Comstor’s AWS business line and using its huge global reseller network.

After growing organically and seeing double-digit revenue jumps, Westcon said this buy is a new part of its strategy of cherry-picking firms.

Westcon boss David Grant said, “Moving to the cloud while maintaining security is a big headache. This is a chance for the channel, but many partners don’t have the skills. This buy will let them get these skills through Rebura.”

Looking ahead at other buys, Westcon said: “We see a hybrid future. Our vision is to give partners the skills and tools for traditional networking, cybersecurity and hybrid cloud. AWS is critical to making that happen.
