Westcoast has expanded its operational capacity buy splashing out on a new Andover warehouse.
The new 340,000 sq ft building is three times the size of the distie’s other warehouses in Theale and Milton Keynes.
MD Alex Tatham said the new warehouse will be the outfit’s biggest single facility had has 62,000 pallet locations.
It is not sure what it is going to put in the extra space, but Tatham said that the distributor’s subsidiary warehouses will be bundled into the new facility. Print hardware is a likely candidate.
Westcoast has been stockpiling in preparation for a no-deal Brexit in the past few months, but Tatham said that Brexit played no role in the distie’s new warehouse.
Tatham said that the warehouse was more about the overall growth the company has been seeing on the market, although it will help – if Brexit ever happens.
Andover is an hour away from Westcoast’s Theale HQ, and should provide a significant number of jobs to the locality.
