Tech Data is recruiting partners to address what it thinks as a significant opportunity to develop new business potential in the education market as schools reassess their needs and update their software over the approaching summer break.
Matt Child, managing director – Advanced Solutions, Tech Data, UK and Ireland said the distie is ready to onboard partners [is that like waterboarding? Ed.] and support them in transacting on Google Workspace for Education – formerly known as G Suite Enterprise for Education.
The new name aligns with the wider Google branding and presents an opportunity to re-present the Google proposition at a time when many schools will be thinking about their options for the summer, Child said.
“Schools have made big changes during the past year and over the summer break, many will be looking at ways to deliver the kind of interaction and collaboration that pupils need, while also keeping costs firmly under control. Google Workspace for Education is perfect for them and we see a big opportunity for partners to proactively sell into the primary and secondary sectors this summertime. We want to onboard more partners now so that they can be ready to take full advantage as soon as schools are ready to make their buying decisions.”
Tech Data is promising offer online training and support for partners on the software, assistance with marketing, and various finance options that make it easier for partners to sell to schools. As well as providing £1.8 billion worth of credit to the channel, Tech Data offers – through its Tech-as-Service scheme – subscription options that enable hardware, software, and services to be rolled into a single contract.
Trade-in values on old equipment can be offered through Tech Data Renew, with all devices properly recycled or refurbished. Tailored leasing options are also available.
