Tech Data needs some more partners for Hitachi Vantara project

Tech Data wants more partners to take Hitachi Vantara’s EverFlex offering to market.

After completing what is thought to be the first deal for the hybrid cloud solution in Europe, Tech Data says it has another one in the pipeline and as the word spreads, more opportunities are expected to emerge.

Launched earlier this year, EverFlex is a portfolio of hybrid cloud offerings, with consumption-based pricing, that automates and simplifies management of IT resources.

Tech Data has been working with Hitachi Vantara and its partners to take EverFlex to market and the initial sale (for a significant six-figure amount) has been made to an MSP that is using the platform as the foundation for its UK-based data centre.

It is believed to be the first solution sale in the EMEA. A separate, seven-figure deal should be completed soon. This will provide flexible StaaS for a well-known online leisure services provider, which sees significant peaks and troughs in usage.

Tech Data, UK senior manager, business development David Thibeault said: “Hitachi is still known as the provider of 100 percent guaranteed data availability. That reputation opens doors and we’ve had a tremendously positive response – both from partners and end-user organisations – to EverFlex.

” We are confident that these initial successes are just the start and that we’ll see strong growth as the word spreads about the agility, scalability, and zero risk that EverFlex delivers.”

Thibeault added that the company was working with a number of MSPs and integrators to take EverFlex to market and we now want to build on the success we’ve already had. We see excellent potential for partners – especially with the StaaS solutions.

“The margins are attractive and what’s also great, from a partner and customer perspective, is that EverFlex products are available to ship right away”, he said.
