Distology becomes a Jamf distributure

Distology, the specialist IT cybersecurity distributor, has today announced it is now a distribution partner of Jamf.

Jamf, the standard in Apple Enterprise Management, helps organisations manage and secure an Apple gear. It claims to be the only company that provides a complete management and security solution for an Apple-first environment that is enterprise secure, consumer simple and protects personal privacy.

Over the last two years, remote and hybrid working has become the norm yet, according to research from Distology, almost half of IT leaders admit their organisation’s cybersecurity isn’t good enough for remote working.

This demonstrates the importance of implementing managed security solutions, such as Jamf, which help to protect the mobile experience.

Distology sees “disruptive” channel consolidation

The channel is about to be walloped by a disruptive wave of consolidation among managed security services providers (MSSP).

A survey from security distributor Distology found that customers (38 percent) saw a link between consolidation and cyber security as a service (CSaaS) as channel players gain the ability to cover more bases through mergers.

Apparently, when IT leaders were asked what would be the biggest disruptions over the next five years, attracting talent was high on the list, which could increase risks for firms.

Distology chief product officer Lance Williams said: “With the way organisations operate having evolved considerably over the last two years, it goes without saying that cyber security needs have also changed and this is only set to continue. We are seeing digital transformation continue to accelerate across most sectors, while more SMEs are digitising their product offering and customer experience.

Distology moves house

IT security distributor Distology has moved into a new 4,000-plus sq. ft office.

The business has grown its number of employees from 20 to 50 and has appointed new senior staff, including Lance Williams as chief product officer following a 15-year stint at Softcat, while also onboarding 40 new strategic partners, Distology says.

Distology CEO Hayley Roberts (pictured), said: “We’re delighted that we’ve been able to accelerate growth from both a team and commercial standpoint, whilst retaining the key elements that make our business unique. We credit our success to a number of different factors including the dedication of our talented team, our unique and innovative ways of working, exceptional customer experiences and deep knowledge and expertise of the cyber sector.”

The Stockport-based distributor, which claims it has increased its revenues by more than 75 percent over the past three years, gained private equity investment from NorthEdge Capital earlier this year.

Its new office space tripled the size of its former base and the company is looking to grow its team further in the near future, Roberts says.

Scottish ZoneFox partners with Distology

maxresdefaultEdinburgh-based cybersecurity outfit ZoneFox has teamed up  with distributor Distology in a bid to grow its UK channel.

ZoneFox makes user behavioural analytics gear which monitors the movements of an organisation’s users by mapping out their day-to-day behaviour. This means it can recognise when a user is carrying activity that they usually would not and may or may not have been replaced by a hacker or an alien.

CEO and founder James Graves has gone on record saying that it wanted to launch the vendor into the UK channel using a two-tier model. Now it seems stage one of the cunning plan involves Stockport-based Distology.

It wanted to appoint 15 partners by the end of the year and channel manager Howard Freeman revealed the figure is now at eight.

He said the channel was interested in the product and there were a few that wanted to team up.

Distology is not signing a reseller contract, it will just be transacting business and working with ZoneFox.

The eight partners are boutique security specialists, ranging from between 15 and 100 employees.

Distology gives ZoneFox a distributor that can package its solution alongside its other vendors. It distributes Osirium, Portnox and Okta.
