SoftwareONE has appointed Dieter Schlosser as its new CEO following the death of Patrick Winter.
Winter led the company to become one of the world’s largest software licensing specialists, boasting revenues of €6 billion and a headcount of 3,000 staff until his death.
Schlosser joined the outfit in 2012, and lately held the position of global COO and transformation leader. He will take the reins as chief exec on 1 January 2019.
Daniel von Stockar, SoftwareONE’s chairman, welcomed the news and said there is “no better person” to oversee the company’s merger with rival Comparex.
“In the next phase of growth and integration of Comparex, Dieter brings the right combination of talent, technical and strategic knowledge and leadership skills to take SoftwareONE to the next level”, von Stockar said.
“Dieter has been a proven leader with vision and leadership as SoftwareONE has transformed from being a pure global software reseller and license management company to a global platform, solutions and services leader.
“With his closeness to our customers across the world, Dieter established a dynamic service portfolio designed for innovation and growth.”
Schlosser said of his appointment: “Over the past six months, SoftwareONE has gone through a tremendous tragedy with the passing of Patrick Winter and our team has shown amazing perseverance in this difficult time.
“Not only did we persevere, [but] our SoftwareONE family, our culture and our value proposition with customers is stronger than ever. Our passionate team of colleagues has continued to execute on our vision and we have continued to grow organically and through M&A, with the acquisition of Comparex.”
