Schneider Electric has launched a new training programme in the UK and Ireland to address the digital skills gap.
The Schneider Electric Training programme aims to offer top-notch training by combining specialist academies, courses, and digital campuses into one comprehensive package.
The company, known for its energy management and automation solutions, says this initiative is in response to the ongoing skills shortage in engineering and the crucial role training plays in managing the complexities of digital transformation.
Schneider Electric UK&I, VP Services David Pownall, said, “Organisations are increasingly relying on their electrical systems to support operations, digital transformation, automation, and manufacturing. Electrical engineers and their expertise are essential for the installation, safety, and maintenance of this infrastructure.”
He added, “There is an urgent need to develop skills to adopt new technologies, modernise processes, improve performance, reduce downtime, and comply with evolving safety regulations. Training is also vital for career growth and creating a positive employee experience, which helps attract and retain talent during this skills gap crisis.”
The programme covers a wide range of topics, including AI, machinery and equipment automation, power and energy management innovations, and safety standards and regulations.
Schneider Electric Training will provide customers, partners, and engineers with a single access point to various training options and resources, including Schneider Electric solutions, industry-focused courses, and professional accreditations.
Training will be available through several specialist academies for in-person courses and a digital campus offering on-demand courses for Continuing Professional Development (CPD) via the mySchneider portal.
Two academies are already operational, with three more set to open by the end of the year.
