Salesforce has spruced up its CRM abilities by writing a $1.33 billion cheque for Vlocity in an all-cash deal.
According to GlobalData the move will mean that Vlocity’s capabilities can he used to further strengthen its platform offerings and enhance its presence across key industry verticals, where Vlocity has its customer base.
Sunil Kumar Verma, Lead ICT Analyst at GlobalData, a leading data and analytics company said Vlocity has a strong presence across several verticals, which include energy, health, insurance, utility, government organisations, communications, media and entertainment. The acquisition means that Salesforce will gain access to key customers of Vlocity, which include Deutsche Telekom, ENGIE and British Gas.
“Salesforce will also be able to access the partner capabilities of Vlocity for industry-specific services. These include partners of its Vlocity Industry Partner (VIP) program, which offers growth opportunities and industry-specific services to consulting firms, global systems integrators and cloud technology companies, to partner and facilitate the migration of enterprises to the cloud. Key technology partners Vlocity includes IBM, Adobe and Accenture, while prominent consulting partners include Accenture, Deloitte, Capgemini, PWC, Infosys and Cognizant ,”Verma said.
“Salesforce has already had a strong portfolio comprising ‘Manufacturing Cloud’ and ‘Consumer Goods Cloud’, along with industry-specific partners like Code Zero and Veeva. Strategic acquisitions like ClickSoftware and Vlocity will allow Salesforce to increase its top-line in the future”, he added.
