Security outfit, Rubrik has appointed Ismail Elmas as GVP of international business.
The former Zscaler GVP is the second Zscaler staff member to be poached. This year, Rubrik hired Sean Sullivan from the Zscaler ranks to lead its sales strategy developmentĀ and support for service providers in EMEA.
Rubrik CRO Brian McCarthy said Elmas will build and scale Rubrik’s international business.
“His expertise and skill set is a great fit for our vision as we accelerate our market strategies to deliver cyber resilience to our customers worldwide,” McCarthy said.
Elmas spent four years at Zscaler, driving significant growth and leading teams in international markets, including Europe and Asia. He has also worked at software companies such as AppDynamics and BMC Software.
Elmas said that ransomware will be around for a while, mainly as the amount of data organisations hold accumulates and the surface area for hackers to target proliferates.
“Data security and posture must be a top priority for all organisations. I’m excited to help customers increase their cyber resilience and work alongside this leadership team to advance the business and growth opportunities across Europe and Asia.”
The news comes on the heels of Rubrik’s recent acquisition of Laminar, a data security posture management platform.
