IT software solutions provider, KFA Connect, has pledged to take its fundraising total for Marie Curie to £10,000 by the end of 2020.
This follows the launch of it’s free ‘Magic Tax’ bridging software solution, which was developed by the company in response to HMRC’s 2019 legislation for ‘Making Tax Digital for VAT’. The method gives companies and individuals access to a free platform to submit VAT returns in return for a charitable donation to Marie Curie.
KFA Connect’s “Magic Tax” simplifies the process of making a VAT submission for companies throughout the UK, it’s claimed, by bridging the gap between their own accounting processes or system and HMRC’s Government Gateway. All users have to do is upload their data using an Excel spreadsheet and the software will do the rest The KFA team also offer a support service for anyone looking for help using it.
Marie Curie is the UK’s leading charity for people with any terminal illness. The charity helps people living with a terminal illness and their families make the most of the time they have together by delivering expert hands-on care, emotional support, research and guidance.
Due to this work, KFA Connect is using its Magic Tax service to fundraise for Marie Curie. The system is run completely not-for-profit, with 100 percent of the donations going to the charity.
Sally Sansom, Community Fundraiser for Hampshire at Marie Curie, is grateful to KFA for using its Magic Tax service to raise money for the charity: “We are delighted to team up with KFA Connect on their fundraising initiative. It’s great that they have created such a useful service and are using it to raise money for Marie Curie which will help us provide care and support to people living with a terminal illness and their families. After the success of 2019, we are excited to see how this initiative will grow in 2020. Thank you to the KFA Connect team and everyone who has used Magic Tax and donated so far.”
Director at KFA, Richard Austin, wants to encourage as many people as possible to use the free service and donate the money that they would have paid to an accountant or for a subscription-based accountancy package, to Marie Curie instead:
“Everyone here at KFA Connect is very proud of our Magic Tax service. We are thrilled to be able to simplify the process of making a VAT submission while supporting the great work of Marie Curie.”
