Back-from-the-dead retailer Comet has announced that Shawn Lamb has been appointed to head up the business.
Comet was founded in 1933 and became a staple of the UK retail market before its demise in 2012 .
UK Computer Group, which is now known as the Misco Technologies Group, revived the name in 2019 having bought the rights from Deloitte, which was acting as liquidator.
Lamb has now been appointed as the Comet Director which was announced by the business in a LinkedIn post.
It read: “It’s with great pleasure that the business would like to welcome back Shawn Lamb to head up Comet.
“Shawn brings a huge wealth of experience back over to the UK and we are excited to see what him and the Comet team can do.”
Lamb added that he is “truly excited about working with the team and revitalising the Comet brand”.
The Misco brand was also acquired by the same company in 2019 following its downfall in 2017.
