IT powerhouse Bechtle has announced its acquisition of Magnetic Media Network (MMN), an Italian IT solutions provider, to expand its footprint in the Italian market.
MMN, founded in 1989 and headquartered near Milan with a second site near Venice, has approximately 100 employees and annual revenues of €68.6 million (£57.67 million), significantly contributing to Bechtle’s growing European operations.
The acquisition quadruples Bechtle’s workforce in Italy and marks its first venture into the country’s IT service sector.
Bechtle AG COO Konstantin Ebert highlighted the strategic importance of the deal.
“In MMN, we are gaining a company driven by its remarkable passion for technology, which is incredibly creative and fast when it comes to developing modern services,” Ebert said.
“This acquisition will help us grow our portfolio in this exciting European market.”
MMN’s status as an Apple-authorised enterprise reseller (AAER) is a key asset in the acquisition. Bechtle is one of only two companies with this designation in Italy.
This partnership allows Bechtle to offer enterprise customers comprehensive solutions based on iOS and Mac technologies.
The company is present at Europe’s largest innovation centre and start-up incubator, Roncade, where its development team includes graduates from the European Apple developer academy.
MMN CEO PierDamiano Airoldi said: “We aspire to achieve above-average growth with and for our customers in the future. Bechtle’s security and size and MMN’s flexibility and innovative spirit are perfect for us to realise our future growth plans.”
Bechtle has been developing its Apple business in Europe for some time; earlier this year, it acquired iDoo Tech in Spain with the same expansion goals in the Iberic territory.
MMN, active in the Italian market since 1998, sees this as an opportunity to use its strong customer relationships and excellent reputation to expand its reach across Europe.
