Cloudy Flotek has bought most of OES, a web and print firm from North Wales.
OES has grown fast and made £3.1 million a year, with a name for its service and bespoke plans, especially for the legal market.
The deal boosts Flotek’s reach in the region, along with the Chester office it got last year, and makes the Welsh MSP rake in more than £10.5 million.
The buy adds 22 OES staff to Flotek’s team, taking it to over 80 people.
Flotek’s boss, Jay Ball, said: “This buy will help us grow and get seen in the area and, most importantly, will let us get into the web and print business and do more for lawyers while giving OES access to a firm telecom offer.
He said he was pleased to have OES as part of the group and make new chances for both firms and their customers.”
OES’s bosses, Wayne Jones, Peter Edwards, and Luke Murray, will keep their jobs as MD, finance chief, and IT boss and still run OES.
Jones said: “Joining Flotek is a brilliant chance for our team and clients. Getting the cash from a Welsh-owned firm is a massive deal, and I’m pleased to stay at a Welsh firm. We’ve always put our customers first at OES, and now we can use the systems and methods that can make our customers happier. We can also do more things and use Flotek’s tools to spread our wings in the area. I can’t wait to get into the telecoms business and grow with this buy.”
OES’s name will stay the same under Flotek’s wing to keep things smooth and familiar for clients and staff.
This is the second firm Flotek has bought in the last three months after it snapped up Cardiff-based Ikona IT last November.
