Scottish start-up Swetrix today announced the launch of its new “cookie-less” alternative to Google Analytics.
Swetrix is focused on visitor privacy, which is increasingly relevant today as invasive user monitoring continues to be problematic—and is illegal in some EU countries.
Swetrix touts itself as an analytics solution compliant with privacy regulations, including GDPR in the EU zone. The company said it allows users to be compliant with HIPAA for healthcare data, PCI DSS for payment card data and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA).
The Scottish company said that its core analytics features in Swetrix are agile and powerful, and metrics are displayed and easy to understand. People can understand the analytics without having to be data scientists.
Swetrix provides valuable insights to its clients based on data inputs from different systems. The “cookie-less” analytics service offers:
– Website traffic analytics
– User flow tracking
– Custom alerts
Swetrix owner Andrii Romasiun said: “This is how analytics should be: GDPR compliant, lightweight and easy to use.”
“The outfit solves the problem of providing website owners with accurate and non-invasive web analytics. Traditional analytics rely on user tracking, which is invasive by design. People want an alternative that will not violate their privacy,” Romasiun claimed.
“Swetrix takes a privacy-first approach, using technology without cookies to collect aggregated analytics data.” Individual users will not be tracked. The open-source software allows users to host it on their servers, taking complete control of the data collected,” he said.
