Data analytics and technology provider Verisk has announced two new hires as part of the company’s international insurance market growth strategy.
For those not in the know, Verisk solutions in the UK and Continental Europe use data, artificial intelligence and machine learning to help insurers enhance decision-making, improve the customer experience and drive profitable growth.
Verisk has named Robert Stewart, Director of Business Development at Verisk Underwriting Solutions, and Neil Garrett as Sales Director, effective September 2023.
Verisk said it wanted to improve its support of clients and tap into the emerging needs of the industry across the UK.
Stewart will work with existing Verisk clients and prospects to discover new opportunities and outreach to ensure continued growth and that the company thrives in a competitive market.
Before joining Verisk, Stewart spent over 37 years of his career dedicated to the insurance market, most significantly as a Senior Partner and Director at Miller Insurance Services LLP, where he made considerable contributions.
Recently, Stewart served as a Development Executive at VesselsValue, where he successfully built a global community of insurers dedicated to integrating high-quality maritime data into their support platforms. Among his many accomplishments,
Stewart led a London Market team that achieved a 95 per cent client retention rate over two decades and played a pivotal role in strategising for a client with an insurance policy exceeding $3 billion.
Stewart said: “I am excited to be joining Verisk, having moved from a career in broking to the world of risk assessment using data and the many innovative tools that are now at the industry’s disposal. Verisk is the Gold Standard of the analytics market, so I feel privileged to join the team at such an important time.”
Garrett holds a track record in selling and building sales teams for software, business services, and data solutions in the insurance and broader automotive industry; he is also an esteemed judge for the Insurance Times awards.
Garrett’s extensive knowledge and deep understanding of claims and underwriting will support Verisk’s business goals. Garrett joins Verisk after a successful career with Solera | Audatex and Enterprise Rent-A-Car, where he exceptionally delivered double-digit growth.
Garrett said: “My role at Verisk is to ensure we operate with the client at the heart of what we do. This means understanding the values and mission of our clients and providing solutions from across the Verisk insurance ecosystem that adds value and align with its mission. It’s a pleasure to join the Verisk team to optimise the client experience.”
