RTI takes on two additional distributors

RTI has taken on two additional distributors — Northamber and Indigo Distribution — as RTI partners for the UK market.

RTI Chief Executive Joe Roberts said his outfit was strongly committed to the UK market and is seeing its commercial side growing.

Chessington-based, Northamber is the longest established trade-only distributor of IT equipment in the UK, with a 40-year history of providing technology solutions for the SME/SMB market, it’s said. Headquartered in Bangor, Northern Ireland, Indigo Distribution serves integrators across the UK, offering support to help ensure success for every project — from the design stage through to post-installation.

Synaxon takes on Northamber

Synaxon UK, the channel services group, has announced that the full portfolio of products stocked by leading distributor Northamber, has been added to its EGIS stock availability and pricing platform.

Northamber is the latest in a string of additions to the growing list of distributors and suppliers that Synaxon UK works with to provide resellers and retailers with the most comprehensive choice of products, along with full stock availability and pricing information, available in the channel.

Other recent signings include network components specialist distributor, Approved Technology, independent provider of printer and copier supplies and consumables, Go2 Distribution, and the leading office products and stationery and brand, ACCO.

UK IT distie channel founder dead

David Phillips, one of the founders UK IT distribution has died, he was 74.

He led Northamber during the channel’s heady days and when margins were slashed.

Geoff Walters, acting chairman of Northamber, said that the business had been touched by the news and sympathies had been passed to David’s wife and children.

“We were extremely saddened to learn of the passing of David.  Everyone at the Company acknowledges the significant contribution David made to the development and leadership of the Company since he founded Northamber in 1980.  Our thoughts are with David’s family at this difficult time,” he said.

Jared Cary, who worked at Northamber for several years before joining IBM wrote that Phillips launched so many careers and although he divided opinion and said it as he saw it he helped him tremendously.

Genee World calls in the liquidator

Genee World has gone into liquidation a former sales and marketing director has said on LinkedIn.

In a post on LinkedIn, Genee World’s former sales and marketing director Jez Warren claimed the firm had gone into liquidation, with all staff being made redundant.

Parker Andrews has since confirmed that it has been appointed as Genee World’s liquidator.

Genee World specialises in educational products, such as interactive touchscreens and software, and counts Altodigital among its partners.

ThinPrint names Northamber as UK distributor

The distributor will raise ThinPrint’s market profile and drive sales of  its print management across education and small-to-medium sized businesses.

ThinPrint and adapt to print jobs of all sizes using Advanced Adaptive Compression technology to eliminate bandwidth congestion. Its Output Gateway software replaces printer drivers across printing servers or desktops and reduces pressure on IT departments.
