Computacenter goes on Swiss spending spree

Computacenter has bought €13 million turnover Swiss VAR PathWorks, adding a reseller arm to its operations in Switzerland as part of what has been a significant worldwide spend.

The outfit said the acquisition “closes a gap” in its portfolio in the central European country and it now has its own product house, which makes it more independent and flexible when it comes to procuring hardware for our customers.

Computacenter Switzerland’s CEO Massimiliano D`Auria said that this “is a significant competitive advantage for an IT general contractor like we are”.

PathWorks is a Lenovo Platinum Partner, HP Gold Partner, Samsung Enterprise and Dell partner based in Neudorf with ten employees. D`Auria added that PathWork’s location is also strategic for Computacenter Switzerland.

“Computacenter is acquiring interesting new customers in the public and private sector, in addition to a product house and the additional location near Lucerne.”

However, the buy is part of the British reseller’s expansion. Both US firm FusionStorm and Misco Netherlands were snapped up by Computacenter last year.
