Tech Data reports revenue boost

Tech Data has reported revenue increases across all its geographic regions.

The company said that for the last three-quarters sales climbed 11 percent year on year to $9.3 billion while operating income was up 85 percent to $146.9 million.

Europe made up over half of the overall sales (53 percent) at $4.9 billion.

Tech Data CEO Rich Hume said: “I am pleased to report that our teams delivered a strong Q3 performance with great execution across our three regions. Our Q3 results reflect the powerful combination of our end-to-end portfolio and strong execution by our global teams.

He said this validates the strategic role the company plays in the IT supply chain by delivering value through its end-to-end portfolio to channel partners across the broad spectrum of IT products and solutions.

Tech Data endured an indifferent 2018, blaming a problematic Q4 on vendors altering their contracts.

The distributor, however, mounted a comeback in Q1, with revenue for that quarter climbing 22 percent.

Tech Data said it expects sales for its current quarter, ending 31 January 2019, to be between $10.5 billion and $10.9 billion.
