Net zero or zero government contracts

Decarbonisation or net-zero strategies will soon be a prerequisite for any IT provider wishing to compete for public sector procurements.

Resellers have lost business due to a lack of credentials around sustainability, and it is widely expected that a net-zero requirement for suppliers will soon become a pre-requisite for most public sector procurements in the future.

Pimberly looks to expansion and sets sights on $10 million target

Manchester-based Pimberly thinks that the time is ripe for expansion now that it has passed its $1 million annual recurring revenue (ARR) milestone earlier this year.

The outfit is am SaaS Product Information Management (PIM) and Digital Asset Management (DAM) platform provider and has annouced it is moving into scale mode, investing to accelerate growth and achieve an ARR target of $10 million.

Pimberly’s PIM platform acts as a central hub for all omnichannel product data, including descriptions, specifications, sizing, pricing, availability, imagery and videos for multiple brands, currencies and geographies. Its automation and intuitive “No-Code” UI  streamline ERP/eComm workflows. This helps retailers, distributors and manufacturers to seamlessly expand into new marketplaces and territories, as well as rapidly increasing time to market and the agility of their products and services.

150 suppliers awarded a spot on government framework

ukflagOver 150 suppliers have been awarded a spot on the new  government framework which could net them up to £3 billion in government contracts.

Crown Commercial Service (CCS), which runs the Technology Services 2 (TS2) framework, sent out intention to award notices to successful suppliers and started a standstill period. About 162 suppliers are set to be awarded a spot on the framework when the standstill period ends, with 15 bidders not making the cut.

The framework will see a range of IT services provided to central and local government and is estimated to be worth of £1-£3 billion.  Prevous frameworks have only managed £200 million which was awarded to 85 suppliers.

TS2 is broken down into four Lots, with Lot 3 and Lot 4 broken down further into sub-categories. Suppliers had been left waiting by CCS, with intention to award notices missing their estimated receipt date of 7 August.

A Cabinet Office spokesperson confirmed that the CCS was behind schedule, but added that the notices would be sent out by the end of the week.
