Atos wants to sell EcoAct to Schneider

Atos has entered into negotiations with Schneider Electric to flog its climate consulting and net-zero solutions provider EcoAct and its subsidiaries.

It would mean that Atos would secure its divestment programme of non-core assets while engaging in a strategic partnership with Schneider Electric on decarbonisation.

EcoAct offers a portfolio of services which covers the net-zero transition value chain, from planning and forecasting to carbon offsetting.

Schneider Electric launches Ecommerce Partner Programme

Schneider Electric has launched its first Ecommerce Partner Programme.

The vendor wants to adapt to changes in the e-commerce landscape to ensure it can provide a collaborative programme that encourages growth.

The programme provides the usual battery of options that self-respecting partners would expect, including market and product information, training and compensation, plus access to its eCommerce Transformation & Activation Manager to help develop partners with their growth strategies.

Schneider Electric vice-president of IT channels Europe  David Terry said: “For the first time, we are offering our ecommerce partners a programme which is unique and innovative that sets it apart from its competitors.

Schneider Electric launches new partner programme

Schneider Electric has launched a new partner programme, which it claims will capture all partner types and become an attractive destination for a “new wave” of channel players.

The power management specialist has been using a programme that has remained largely unchanged for the best part of a decade.

The firm has opted to roll out its mySchneider IT partner programme across Europe, with the emphasis on making it easier for more partners to engage with the vendor.

Phase one of the programme, which starts now, introduces an “IT Solution Provider” specialisation, with partners able to certify on three levels – Select, Premier and Elite – enabling them to combine multiple specialisations, including identifying, reselling and configuring.

Schneider Electric’s Marilia Ferreira said partners had been calling for greater flexibility in the way the vendor segmented its programme. Surveys it had carried out showed one-third were dissatisfied with the structure on offer.

Schneider Electric installs WALLIX Inside into Harmony P6 industrial PCs

Schneider Electric has integrated WALLIX Inside into its line of Harmony P6 industrial PCs.

WALLIX and Schneider Electric’s partnership spans over five years, and the pair will be launching an integrated solution that ensures the enhanced security of connections for the systems of industrial plants, commercial buildings, hospitals, and data centres.

WALLIX Inside allows industrial engineering specialists to manage identity and access between their solution and connected industrial machines to secure access to data in transit.

Through the partnership, Schneider Electric has integrated WALLIX’s “by design” technologies directly into its new line of industrial PCs called Harmony P6. This i-PAM (Industrial Privileged Access Management) device is a plug & play secure connectivity solution for industrial PLC programming and maintenance operations.

Channel needs to start thinking green

Schneider Electric has warned that channel firms will need to prove their sustainability credentials or face losing business.

Mark Garner, VP of Secure Power at Schneider Electric, said sustainability will become a key consideration for IT purchasers, along with traditional factors such as price. Moreover, he said Schneider is committed to having a carbon-neutral supply chain by 2030 and is working with channel partners on building green practices.

Schneider Electric announces cloudy Smart-UPS

two-clouds-1385018843_27_contentfullwidthSchneider Electric has released APC Smart-UPS with SmartConnect intelligent cloud management for its UK & Ireland channel.

The outfit claims it is the first cloud-enabled uninterruptible power supply (UPS) for distributed IT environments and enables businesses, unusually small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) that have limited IT staff and resources, to manage the health of their UPS systems.

SmartConnect uses the Schneider Electric cloud-enabled EcoStruxure IT architecture to gather and send data about the health and status of a customer’s UPS devices including battery replacement, warranty renewal and UPS performance notifications.

It also provides a secure, cloud-based web portal where customers can view the status of their UPS, accessible from any internet-connected device, send customisable automatic notifications, firmware notification updates and advanced troubleshooting support through an easy-to-use remote monitoring interface.

It can be deployed right out of the box without any configuration required – making it easy for even non-technical users to install.

SmartConnect cloud-powered technology also enables managed service providers (MSPs) to expand their offerings to deliver remote UPS monitoring for SMB clients. This provides MSPs with a more significant opportunity to serve their customers through value-added power infrastructure services better while generating new revenue streams – all with minimal effort and no additional cost.

Connected APC Smart-UPS with SmartConnect is one of the latest products available as part of Schneider Electric’s EcoStruxure IT Data Center Management as a Service architecture. The foundation of EcoStruxure IT is built on intelligent, connected solutions that leverage data-driven insights to simplify the maintenance and operation of IT physical infrastructure by improving performance operation, enabling remote visibility and monitoring, and providing expert services capabilities.
