IT Lab to lose its name

IT Lab has been renamed as Content+Cloud as the businesses it has acquired over recent years are lumped together.

The IT Lab brand will be retired on 1 September along with the Content and Code name, which joined the group via acquisition in 2018.

CEO Peter Sweetbaum (pictured) said that Sol-Tec, which was also acquired this year, will also be renamed “in due course.”

Sweetbaum said the name changes reflects the services that the group provides.

IT Lab swallows Mirus IT

IT Lab has acquired managed services player Mirus IT.

Mirus will take Group revenues for IT Lab past  £75 million and improve the outfit’s managed services operation, which will now have more than 890 clients and 700 staff.

IT Lab becomes a Microsoft managed desktop partner

IT Lab Group has become a Microsoft managed desktop partner and will provide global end-user support service alongside the Microsoft Managed Desktop service.

IT Lab and Content and Code team up

banner_220x220IT Lab and Content and Code have consolidated their operations to create one of the largest Microsoft partners in the UK.

The combined entity will have a £60 million turnover and 550 staff operating out of locations in London, Manchester and South Africa.

IT Lab has been given the backing of private equity players ECI Partners to since that relationship was struck in 2016 it has made no secret of ambitions to use acquisition as a route to growth.

Content and Code is the second deal that the firm has made in the last 18 months following on from an acquisition of cybersecurity player Perspective Risk last May. The details of the latest purchase have not been disclosed.

IT Lab chief executive Peter Sweetbaum remains at the head of the firm and Tim Wallis, founder of Content and Code, will take on the role of Chief Digital Officer of IT Lab and will lead the future relationship with Microsoft.
