11:11 Systems completes i[s]land acquisition

Managed infrastructure solutions provider “11:11” whose name ever prevents it from beginning a sentence has completed its acquisition of cloudy outfit iland.

The outfit recently acquired Green Cloud Defense, a channel-only, cloud Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) provider.

The merged entity uses iland’s Secure Cloud Console, natively combining deep-layered security, predictive analytics, and compliance to deliver unmatched visibility and ease of management for all of its cloud services.

Iland sees growth on back of Channel expansion

Cloudy Iland is reporting rapid growth and development of its secure cloud backup infrastructure due to the significant expansion of its channel partners across EMEA.

The company said that its UK partner portfolio has doubled within the last year. This has resulted in year-to-date revenue growth of 140 percent.

Cloud service demand increased during the COVID-19 pandemic owing to its cloud services having more relevancy to the UK and EMEA market.

Data protection DIY is not always the best plan

IT teams are struggling with choosing between less critical, but important tasks, versus focusing on projects to help transform their business, according to  Sarah Doherty, Product Marketing Manager at iland.

She said that while both are necessary for your business and need to be actioned few are thinking should their teams do all of it?

Doherty said disaster recovery can take a lot of time to properly implement so it may be the right time to consider a third-party provider who can help with some of the more routine and technical aspects of your disaster recovery planning. This help can free up some of your staff’s valuable time while also safeguarding your vital data.

You need a roadmap when your head is in the clouds

Companies need a roadmap when they move to the cloud, according to  iland Vice President Justin Justin Augat,

Justin Augat said as with other major, transformational initiatives, cloud deployment can be risky if not done correctly. When deploying cloud services, organisations need to develop and agree on a cross-functional business plan that minimises risks.

“Cloud services can be a positive presence across the business with benefits like reduced time to market, lower costs and new resources to focus on innovation. But they can also create a risk of missing expectations if the organisation is not ready for the financial and operational impact”, he said.

iland expands global channel sales programme

iland is expanding its global channel sales programme to address substantial partner growth and customer demand for its secure cloud backup, infrastructure and disaster recovery solutions in North America, South America, Asia, Europe, Australia and Africa.

Using VMware technology, iland’s solutions are apparently popular among small- and medium-sized organisations that lack the resources and expertise to deploy, test and manage their own cloud-based disaster recovery, backup and infrastructure solutions. iland claims it is now reaching a broader audience of enterprise customers through an expanding partner network of resellers and managed service providers that understand the value of migrating solutions to the cloud.

KPN partners with Iland

Dutch landline and mobile telecommunications company KPN has teamed up with iland, a global cloud service provider of secure and compliant Infrastructure (IaaS), disaster recovery (DRaaS) and Backup-as-a-service (BaaS).

The partnership is part of a cunning plan to put iland’s DRaaS solutions on the shelves for KPN business customers. KPN stated that the partnership was motivated by the security and scalability of iland’s solutions and its rapid implementation capabilities, while iland cited the alliance with KPN as being evidence of its concerted and strategic approach to a more channel-focused direction across EMEA.
