Irish Xperience bags a green duck

Northern Irish MSP Xperience has acquired East of England based Green Duck, an MSP which offers cloud, cybersecurity and other managed IT services.

Xperience’s MD Iain O’Kane said the outfit wanted to make at least three acquisitions as part of a plan to expand in the UK and double its revenues over the next three years.

The Green Duck acquisition will “combine two businesses with a common focus on delivering the best digital transformation solutions for companies across the UK” along with synergies such as hoisin sauce and pancakes (we made the last two up).

O’Kane said: “Growth across the UK is a strategic priority and Green Duck was a natural fit for our business with a similar culture and values.

“Over the last two decades, the team has demonstrated a commitment to innovation and a strong track record in client satisfaction. As part of Xperience, Green Duck will be able to access investment, a broader range of technical services, our dedicated Cloud service, plus a business that serves both the UK and Ireland.

“In addition, Green Duck business complements our existing cloud, cybersecurity and managed IT solutions. These are providing our clients with mobile and agile working, strengthened data security and putting data at the centre of their businesses.

Xperience gets a new Bury St Edmunds office to add to its existing bases in Lisburn, Peterborough and Glasgow, while its headcount will grow to 123 and its annual turnover to approximately £16 million.

Green Duck has Microsoft, Veeam and Sophos among its vendor partners and the combined company will serve more than 1100 clients, typically ranging between 10 and 100 users, across the UK and Ireland.

Green Duck CEO Rod Jackson said: “Our clients will continue to benefit from the services of Green Duck and have access to a broader range of resources plus the ability to support clients’ needs across the UK.”
