Datto continues channel growth

Dattocon opened, as so many of these IT conferences do, with a lot of flashing lights and noise. This conference held by Datto in Barcelona is really aimed at its MSPs, and there’s plenty of them here, along, of course with a load of vendors, hoping to help you keep your Office 365 and other IT products secure.

Datto wants to recruit more MSPs, and there’s a heap of vendors here seeking to woo the attendees here.

The firm said that it has recruited 750 MSPs in the European territory since the beginning of this year, and that’s a 40 percent increase year on year.

The event was kicked off by Austin McChord, founder and CEO of Dattocon. “The world is waking up to the MSP model”, he said. It has 1,463 employees worldwide, and has 14,000 partners, and is pouring money into Europe with seven offices and 20 percent more staff and doubled its storage today.

“If you’re a small SME the IT is broken”, he claimed. It’s governed by regulations and security and that’s confusing for small and medium sized enterprises. The shower of new regulations is drowning business he said in a message encouraging opportunities for its partners.

McChord said that his firm is focusing on efficiency and reducing clicks and missing fields. It has deployed dozens of improvements in its 2018 dot two product. It launched Autotask mobile dashboards in June but has introduced more mobile applications.

It will open a new datacentre in Germany in the first half of next year. It already has existing datacentres in Germany, the UK and in Iceland.

SMEs already spend over $40 billion a year outsourcing their IT because of the complexity of managing it.That figure will grow to $72 billion by 2022, said Datto, quoting industry analysts.
