CloudHealth and Softcat team up on cloud

CloudHealth and Softcat have announced a new partnership.

The pair say that Softcat’s Cloud Intelligence Service, powered by CloudHealth, will bring enhanced visibility into public cloud environments, offering greater insight into spend, usage, and identifying efficiencies across all cloud platforms.

CloudHealth and Softcat will generate automated reports on all of an organisation’s public cloud usage, in Microsoft Azure or Amazon Web Services (AWS), as part of the service they offer. The service reports provide an overview of the cost and performance of individual cloud resources to highlight inefficiencies and suggestions on how to address them, as well as flagging areas of overspend, and highlighting gaps in provisioning. Also, the service enables an organisation to control its cloud environment by highlighting any deviations from its desired governance position, for example highlighting when assets are deployed that fail security best practices.

The idea is the knowledge within Softcat’s dedicated, UK-based Cloud Intelligence Service team is used to compliment the power of the CloudHealth platform by offering personalised support to customers, it’s claimed.

Combining the CloudHealth platform with Softcat’s unparalleled knowledge sees customers reduce their cloud spend by 20-30 percent on average by improving their visibility, and better aligning cost to the value it generates for them.

Colin Brown, Managing Director at Softcat said: “We make it our business to provide our customers with solutions to their IT challenges; getting to grips with the public cloud and its associated nuances are one of those. We partnered with CloudHealth, the leader in multi-cloud management, to complement our pedigree in IT asset intelligence to deliver a service solution that directly addresses the challenge. From the very beginning, we were impressed with the CloudHealth team’s commitment and the performance of their technology. This partnership will accelerate our business and have a huge positive impact on the lives of our customers.”

Bob Kilbride, Senior Director of Global Channels at CloudHealth said: “Softcat is a leading IT infrastructure solution provider in the UK and Ireland, and we are proud to partner with them to provide an offering that gives organisations tighter control over their cloud, while still realising its many benefits. We truly value the opportunity to work with such a deeply respected industry leader to ensure that today’s businesses are using the cloud to enable greater levels of innovation and speed.”
